First, some things you might want to know. I have a boyfriend and I talk about him a lot because we spend a ton of time together not really doing much, so that's the first caveat for you. If talk of my bf (it's never sappy; sometimes I bitch about him a lot) is going to bother you, let's both of us not waste our time. I swear like a sailor and sometimes write bizarre sexually explicit short fiction, and sometimes I become violently obsessed with books or movies and can talk about nothing else for days. I also am an unabashed user of marijuana and alcohol, and I do write about that sometimes, so again, if that will bother you, we probably oughtn't to be friends. That's pretty much it for warnings, so on to the good stuff about me.
I'm 19 years old, my name's Moriah, and I live in St. Louis, MO, USA with my abovementioned boyfriend and his best friend in an apartment above a hair salon. We have a lot of crazy times, very little drama, and too much fun to talk about. I'm a sales associate at an area Macy's, a sometime poet and a student when the mood strikes me. I'm interested in linguistics, literature, music, art and theology, among other things, and I plan to post about some of that stuff as well. Check out my profile for more interests and specific musical taste. Hopefully you'll see something you find interesting. I've only got a couple of posts up in my journal so far, but that'll change soon since I'm actually incredibly talkative.
I'm looking for boys, girls and others who consider themselves cool people but are not into pretension or one-upping others. I like people who can turn out a sentence that makes me shudder. I will happily read about your weird fetishes, your off-kilter political beliefs, your conspiracy theories, your boyfriend/girlfriend, your happy poly relationship, your mom and dad, your whole extended family, or your pet bunny. Creative types are welcome. I'd love to read your poetry or short stories or look at your artwork. Pretty much anything you have to say, I am interested in, whether your life is exceptionally mundane or extraordinarily extraordinary.
I want to add people who like good music ("good" is entirely subjective), people who admit that their favorite band sucks, but like them anyway, people with too much time on their hands. Fannish types, avid readers, writers and non-mainstream thinkers especially welcome.
I don't care about your political persuasion, the direction of your religious belief or your dietary habits. I do care that you're respectful of people and their differences, that you have a solid sense of humor, and that you're interested in being a source of positivity in the world. That said, I'm pretty uninterested in political correctness and so my humor can be a bit off-color, so hopefully we're coming from the same place as far as that goes.
I won't tolerate racism, sexism, homo- or heterosexism, religious zealotry or any other variety of douchebaggery, so if you have any bigoted tendencies, it's best we stay away from each other.
If it feels like we fit, go ahead and add me, and if I like what I see, I'll add you back.
