Winter is evil.

Well, I must admit these communities usually seem like a desperate cry for attention and maybe in some cases, they are. However, I've also realized they are good for people like me...those who may have social anxieties, be a bit anti-social, or otherwise not the greatest at striking up conversations with strangers. That being said, here's my futile attempt at an intro...

I'm 28, live in PA, and happily in a neverending relationship.

I'll say right now that I am pagan (no specific path, more a massive mixture of things). If you have a problem with this, please don't respond. I've received enough crap from people over the years in regards to my "beliefs", and am in no tolerable mood for any more of that.

Aside from that, I like a variety of weird stuff. I have several tattoos, including GIR (my icon). I go to renfaires and dress up as a pirate. I collect sharp weapons. I like chocolate. I like to travel. I have a nature photography business and work on other crafty things (web design, sewing, candle making, etc.). I do indoor gardening, but not that well. I have a few animals living with me (dogs and kitten) and I hate winter. I like hiking and camping. I like roller coasters. And my TV show addiction is Criminal Minds.

My favorite author is Neil Gaiman (who I've seen live) and as such, I like similar types of work (Lord of the Rings, the Golden Compass trilogy, Eragon Saga, Inkheart trilogy, Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West, etc.). Movies are generally the same, and include (but are not limited to) those based off Neil's books, Tim Burton movies, muppets, The Simpsons Movie, Van Helsing, Underworld trilogy, The Princess Bride, Pirates of the Caribbean, etc.

As for music, that covers a vast range of mainly rock, industrial and folk type music. Some of my favorite bands include: Ego Likeness, Voltaire, Omnia, Faun, The Dreamside, Tori Amos, Assemblage 23, The Gypsy Nomads, David Bowie, Tool, The Dresden Dolls, Combichrist, KMFDM, The 69 Eyes, The Cruxshadows, and similar artists.

I can't stand stupidity, I think the Twilight series is absolute crap, and "reality TV shows" are anything but real (if you want reality, watch the news). I am not vegan (in other words, meat is tasty), but I support green living (which a lot of people seem to have an issue with). In fact, I'm very fierce about my environmental views. I hate cars, don't drive, and never intend to.

Obviously, I'm here seeking friends. By this I mean, people that will actually treat me as a friend--comment on posts, send messages, etc. I'm not interested in being added to a list of several hundred people and forgotten about--that's not really a friendship. I'm hoping to at least find people with common interests, if nothing more. If you want to know more, just check my profile/journal.
