I'm a thirty year old female who lives in the state of Georgia. I live in Southeastern Georgia, to be exact, right on the coast. I am currently a high school English teacher. I teach three different types of classes within that subject. Just to warn you, I do talk about my job from time to time.
Given what I just revealed, I might as well say that my journal is a mix of real life and fandom talk. My real life will be a mixture of discussions about my job, my life in general, my vacations, and my interests whether it be television-related or not.
I'll go ahead and admit I am a HUGE fan of theatre. I know that seems odd since I'm from Georgia and it's not like we have a lot to choose from around here. The truth is we don't, so I travel around a bit to satisfy that obsession. My favorite place to go is the Stratford Shakespeare Festival in Stratford, Ontario, Canada (you know, where Justin Bieber is from...and no, I'm not a fan of his, LOL). Anyway, I'll talk about plays, my favorite actors, and things like that a lot. Hey, it also kind of ties into my job. I am an English teacher, after all.
But don't let those two things give you the wrong impression about me. I am truly a fun girl-next-door type of person. I'm not a snooty person, which would be the stereotype for an avid theatregoer. As a matter of fact, I'm quite the opposite and I usually stand out in those crowds because I don't fit in. (And, hey, my Southern accent is enough to do that all on its own, LOL.) Anyway, like I was saying, I like to have fun. I can get a little crazy, but all the fun and craziness is good old fashion fun. I'm not the type of person to write about me getting drunk on the weekend or high at some party. I don't do those things. For those of you who like to hardcore party, that's fine. I don't have a problem with it. It's just not me. I just like to be silly and have a good time.
I suppose I might as well talk about my television fandoms since this will pop-up a lot, as well. And, I'm going to go ahead and tell you I'm not even remotely going to name all the shows I'm interested in. I like too many to remember. On the top of my list are two off-the-air shows: Forever Knight and The X-Files. I'm pretty much obsessed with these two, and the former has been receiving special notice for quite a while now, so if you don't know about FK, you will, LOL. I also enjoy (and not in this order--and yes some are on the air, but some are off) Dexter, Boss, True Blood, Hung, United States of Tara, The Big C, Criminal Minds, House, Once Upon a Time, Grimm, Revenge, The Big Bang Theory, A Gifted Man, Person of Interest, Prime Suspect, NCIS, Smallville, MOTU, Lois and Clark, The Dead Zone, Blood Ties, Dark Shadows and many, many more.
Obviously from my profession, I also love to read. I'll read anything as long as it has a plot. That goes from teen novels all the way to the classics. I suppose my guilty pleasure when it comes to reading would be paranormal novels. I adore Chloe Neill's Chicagoland Vampire Novels. My favorite classic novel is a toss-up between Jane Eyre and Frankenstein. If I had to choose right now absolutely, I'd probably say the latter.
I suppose what you need to know about me and my journal the most is that I do update often and I do comment. I'm not saying I will comment on every single thing you post, but I will if I have something to say. And, when I do, it's not going to be just a smile or a "LOL." I will actually talk to you and we'll get to know each other. And, of course, I'd like you to comment and interact with me every once in a while, as well. I'm very open in my journal. With that being said, my one rule is to always be respectful no matter what on my or my friend's opinions. I'm sure you're the same way about your journal, so I'm sure that's a rule everyone can live with!
My journal is friends only, so you won't get much of an idea of what my journal is like if you look at only the public entries. Anyway, I look forward to getting to know any of you who are interested in being friends! Leave a comment that you're adding me so I know where you're from! Thanks!
