Critical mass is
the minimum amount of fissile material needed to maintain a nuclear chain reaction.
the minimum size or amount of something required to start or maintain a venture.
If I had a chance to start a venture I would have launched into it with the greatest enthusiasm ever known. Unfortunately, it too late.
Mostly, because the venture (my blog in English) has been already started once. I can only keep going on with pestering people with my writing efforts. Sounds less encouraging, heh.
Ah, what does all that nonsense has to do with a critical mass that was presumably hit?
The answer is that I finally feel confident enough to write in English, ladies and gentlemen. The amount of scary strange words, treacherous phrases, overwhelming fears of making a mistake and other creepy insecurities has finally been reduced to tolerable level.
Critical mass of writer's confidence was finally hit.
You sure have figured out that I was joking talking about Oxford Dictionary being my second-best friend.
Despite the fact that I really like books, I prefer people.
I am 24, almost 25. Gosh, time flies!
I live in New York, USA, with my fiance.
Being originally from Russia I had been working for 5 years in newspapers of my home town before I moved to America.
I still write for Russian newspapers here, in NYC. This is my current part time job.
Besides that I do a lot of fun things. Such as learning Spanish, reading various literature (George Martin being my latest passion), cooking yummy meals and using any opportunity to travel locally and internationally.
I do sports, too. I have been really enjoying artistic gymnastics lately.
I am Catholic. My political views are very liberal.
I respect all religions and having no religion as well. My world doesn't have any borders.
I am straight, but respect all sexual orientations. To me freedom of conscience, freedom of speech and tolerance are the greatest values.
Sometimes I dress like a hippie and wander around NYC...
Hope to see you among my friends!
