According to group rules, it’s okay to submit this again after 3 weeks, right? Okay then…
Hello, for the first time perhaps, or again if I’d known you before. I am a returnee after a 6 year hiatus from a prior journal here.
Who I am: A 40+ single man; a former salesman, now a recruiter. I have depression and a limp from brain damage caused by a car accident long ago that almost killed me, but I strive to use my inner light to shine through that darkness. I need to make my life count for something, and continue to deny the death that tried to overtake me.
Favorite Movies: Both Star Wars trilogies, the Lord of the rings, Dark Knight, and Indiana Jones trilogies, Rain Man, Dances with Wolves, Iron Man, The Avengers, Thor, Star Trek, True Lies, Jerry Macguire, The Abyss, Fight Club, Forest Gump, Avatar, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, Hero, Rocky, Rocky Balboa, The Undiscovered Country, The Wrath of Khan, Troy, Phantom of the Opera, V for Vendetta, Lion King, Beauty and the Beast, The Blues Brothers, A Few Good Men, Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile…
TV Shows: Star Trek: The Next Generation, The West Wing, NYPDBlue, ER, Seinfeld, Everybody Loves Raymond, The Honeymooners, M.A.S.H., Good Times, All in the Family, Sanford and Son, Mythbusters, Two and a Half Men, Law and Order: SVU, Las Vegas, Magnum P.I…
Music: Styx, Led Zeppelin, The Beatles, Motley Crue, Fleetwood Mac, Bee Gees, Iron Maiden, Shakira, RUSH, Van Halen,
Outside my journal: I write poetry and song lyrics, short stories, and novels. I have one novel semi-completed requiring more work, and several that are planned out and outlined. Some of my writings will reflect on those unfinished goals.
How I write inside my journal: I don’t typically blog about my everyday activities, though will I do it from time to time. Mostly I post my deep thoughts, life-observations, and other musings—some randomly generated and others inspired by events or thoughts I encounter throughout my life’s journey. I like to write in ways that make people think; and or inspire them, amuse them, or simply entertain them. I sometimes will do photo blogs telling a story through my own photos to narrate events of my life, or random pics I find online to illustrate something I found interesting, whether in my mind or the world around me.
Though I have yet to wear a decent costume, I enjoy and admire cosplayers. My experiences at Star Wars conventions resulted in a massive photo-story already written and posted on my Facebook, and I am going to transfer it here as well. I have a large imagination and that is what led me to my love of the Star Wars universe and Lego as well. To that end I built a 34,000 piece, 8 foot long, 3.5 foot wide Lego city representing the city planet Coruscant from Star Wars. Two samples of my city are on my profile toward the bottom, but more photos of it will be posted sometime soon in my journal.
Most of my blogs are public and that probably won’t change. Please check out my profile and some of my public blogs, and feel free to add me.
