I've posted here in the past, gotten some responses from people who seemed super-awesome, and friended said people only to have them basically fall off the face of the internet within two weeks. I don't expect people to post every day, or anything even close to it, but my friend's list is looking a sad given the number of names listed there.
My name is Jess, and I'm 31; Special Educator, writer, crafter, blogger, queer feminist fangirl. I'm a cis-woman, bisexual/panromantic, liberal, trans* positive, and non-religious with a Christian background. I'm socially anxious and a bit emotionally mercurial, but I'm friendly and enjoy meeting new people.
I love trying crafts of any kind, but right now I'm focused on altered/junk boxes and paper crafts/decoupage; I also make jewelry, polymer charms, and crochet. I like taking pictures and I'm trying to improve my technique on my (rather dated) digital camera). I write (when the urge strikes), though I'm trying to be better about writing something every day. I'm a thrift store fanatic (though I'm part of the Salvation Army boycott), and love museums, live music, and theatre (with a particular soft spot for over-the-top musicals and burlesque/striptease).
I post mostly about every day life, links to articles/media/websites that interest me, and the occasional meme or photo post (I am currently in the middle of the March Talking Meme, so head's up). I am a fangirl -- I run two fandom blogs, I write fic, make art, go to cons, and cosplay -- and I do talk about it somewhat on LJ, though I save most of it for Tumblr. I always welcome fans to friend me, though I'd prefer if it's not the sole focus of your LJ.
I'd love to meet anyone, from anywhere, but I have a special love for meeting local, likeminded people, in the hopes that we could occasionally meet-up offline as well. It's happened before, and it's been overwhelmingly a positive experience for me.
Please let me know if you're adding; I'm not a particularly selective friend-er, but I like to know who people are. Cheers.
