Hello everyone! My name is Danae and I am 22 years old. I'm a long term LJ user, my first journal dates back to 2003 and I've had this particular account for 4 years, so I'm not going anywhere soon!

Here's a glimpse into my life. As an undergraduate student I majored in Film Studies as well as German and was able to spend my junior year in Mainz, which was a wonderful experience (I'm a huge advocate of study abroad and travel in general). After graduating I worked as an au pair in Guatemala for 6 months, and have been doing the same in Germany, which is where I currently live. I won't be here for much longer though! I'm going to start grad school this fall to get my MA in Forensic Linguistics. Right now I'm trying to find a place to live as well as a job, so you'll see me writing about that a lot. I try to travel once a month as well, so there's many pictures and reports mixed in for good measure.

I am liberal, a vegetarian, a dog person, and horribly lacking in the romance department lately =P

Basically what I'm looking for in a LJ friend is this: Someone who plans on sticking around and who won't disappear all of a sudden. Someone who is accepting, sympathetic, and open-minded. Someone who comments every now and then. Someone who writes in their journal regularly, and posts more about daily life than about fandoms or memes. Someone adventurous and interesting!

My only friending policy is that you ask before adding me--I'd like a little introduction comment if you don't mind!

the cake is a lie

Hello all. I am Stephanie, German/English, 21, currently residing in sunny shit hole Florida in the States (just moved cities a few weeks ago and bought a townhouse with my boyfriend actually). I've been on LJ for... something like 8 years now. ANNNDDD it would be awesome to make some new online friends here. :D
I post whenever I can about life and the happenings and things. Pictures as well. No fandoms. Also a lot of heavy subjects, so a open mind is always appreciated.

Bullets ftw:
- Pianist of 16 years
- Studying Neuroscience and Music.
- Yes, my boyfriend is white. Yes, people still stare like that's strange.
- Pro-gamer [Current games: Starcraft 2, Diablo 3 and Battlefield.]
- Music choice: Metal [all metal genres], industrial, dubstep, ambience, grindcore, etc. (Metal vocalist. :D)
- Artist [Current medium: granite and charcoal.]
- A man came up to me and said: "You must surrender yourself to our Lord and Savour, Jesus Christ, or your soul will forever burn in the grasp of Hell." And I said: "Sir, I'm a scientist."
- I suffer from health issues and addiction. It's a bitch.
- I rollerblade whenever I don't want to drive my car.
- I don't watch TV. Ever. But I have somehow acquired 7 of them. (Go figure haha.)
- I work as a computer technician. (Yes, I'm a geek).
- Apparently I have a slight obsession with brackets and parenthesis.
- I am mildly afraid of elevators and toilets with the lid left open.
- I have 4 desktops, 7 laptops and a tablet transformer. One is always within 20 feet of me. (No, that is not the addiction. :P)
- My boyfriend and I put in one of the three Lord of the Rings every night when we go to sleep.
- We also collect gaming consoles, even though we are both PC gamers. Oh the irony.
- I'm very physically and verbally affectionate.
- I come from a history of unforeseen circumstances.
- Add me if you'd like! :D I also do the whole Facebook, Blogging, IM and all that good shit thing. But not Twitter. Not Twitter...

And with that, I leave ye good people with this note:

So you know that ringing that you will perceive when you are in a very quiet area? Well, some people say this is an auditory illusion brought about by the ear's ability to detect frequencies below the threshold of the human senses.

What people don't know is that this has been proven wrong.

That ringing covers up something else all together. If you are quick, patient and maybe even a little lucky, you will be able to hear past the ringing. What you will hear are voices whispering to each other. They will silence themselves quickly, but with practice, you will become more adept to catching and interpreting what they are saying. You will hear things of the past, the present and the future.

However, you must be careful. Because there is no such thing as a voice without a body.

And when you start noticing them, they will start noticing you.

Hello Everyone :)

The basics: I'm a 30 year old woman and I'm from the UK. I live with my boyfriend, I don't have any children yet but we plan to start a family within the next year or so. I'm currently job hunting, I have a few health issues and I'm trying to improve my quality of life right now.....I could post about my likes and dislikes but those are not the kinds of things I generally write in my journal about, so I guess it doesn't really matter (though to give a breif overview - I'm very girly, I love anything pink and sparkly, I'm into faeries, and I LOVE music and movies...most genres!)

I have used LJ for about 10 years but I decided to start a new journal recently - I tend to post about my everyday life, thoughts, and general stuff. I will admit - I do have a grumble about things that have annoyed me often, LJ seems to be a great place to vent! But I do try to post happy stuff too.

I'm looking to add people who are happy to be a sympathetic ear, offer constructive advice and support, happy to read pointless entries about seemingly mundane every day happenings in my life, and people who want me to do the same kinds of things for them!

I love reading other peoples journal entries, and I'm a big fan of commenting too :)

If anyone would like to add me, that'd be great :)

I'm 20, but a child at heart. I love simple things...bubbles, hot baths, sunny days, swimming, animals, and I laugh easily. I struggle with intense depression at times because of my bipolar, but I don't let that define who I really am as a person.

I ♥

- American Horror Story
- The Hunger Games
- reading
- learning about serial killers
- photography
- museums
- animals
- babies
- psychology
- FOOD :3
- MOVIES MOVIES MOVIES :)) HORROR MOVIES AND FOREIGN MOVIES :)
- freckles

I am

- pro-choice
- atheist
- pro gay rights
- I guess more 'liberal'
- a Psychology student at a community college
- wanting to transfer to the University of Illinois.

I Dislike

- bigots
- hardcore Christians/hardcore religious people
- people who think they are better then everybody else
- sexism
- homophobia
- racism
- people who act like I can't love animals without being a vegan.

PLEASE note, that while you do not have to comment on every single entry, please make an effort to comment every now and then. I read all of my friend's journals and comment, so I'd appreciate the same.

Add me? :'D
