Hi there.

I'm Jaclyn. I'm 24. Married. I have a one year old daughter. I'm a stay at home Mom. I'm a liberal and an Atheist. I tend to rant in my lj quite a bit. Don't worry, I'm not that Mom who doesn't know how to talk about anything but her child.

Friendship thrives on benign differences . . .

I am a 22-year-old woman living in Michigan. I am finishing up a degree in business administration with an emphasis on small business management. I am doing the preliminary work to open my own internet based travel agency. I come from a long line of entrepenuers and self-employed workers and I've come to value a sort of autonomy that isn't available in the workforce. That said, I'm a hard worker with little tolerance for laziness and believe in doing things right which seems to be less and less valued in today's world.

I love to read and write. I enjoy music and movies. Travel is probably my truest passion and I take every opportunity to explore new places. I love my country but I can't imagine limiting oneself to only the experiences and views and culture of one state or even country. Living in Michigan seems to have bred a love of the outdoors in me and I really enjoy activities such as swimming, hiking, bicycling, camping, and the like. I like to garden; especially fresh grown veggies.

Basically my journal is a hodge podge of personal experiences, travel photos (eventually here), my writing, book reviews, movie review, news commentary, and basically anything else I want to throw up there.

I want to keep my friend list kind of small because I like to actually participate with my online friends and reading journals and such becomes too much with too many people. I am looking for other people who are equally active. I would love to friend fellow avid readers or writers but am completely open to everyone.

While I enjoy the company of people with similar interests, I also appreciate and value being able to talk to someone with small or vastly different experience and views because I believe such relationships are the ones that truly allow you to grow as a person. I look forward to meeting some new people. :D
