Hello, potential internet friends.

My name is Kaz and I've been on this site for longer than I care to remember. I've never really left, but my posting frequency ebbs and flows. I'm just coming out of an ebb period and my friends list is even deader than it was five months ago, so. hi.

I'm 28 and live in Virginia with my boyfriend, one cat who knows she's a cat, and one cat who thinks he's a dog. If I were to sum up my profession(s) as one thing it'd be "biogeographer" (aka "girl who finds animals and puts their locations on maps"), but it's really all over the place right now. The short of the long is: I spend a lot of time with/looking for animals and a lot of time with computers, watching that blue wheel spin and spin... and spin. Whatever time's leftover is usually spent reading and hanging out with my boyfriend, though I sometimes go on adventures as my health allows and I try to see as much live music as I can afford. Which won't be much this year because my dumb kitten tried to die on me in December and vet bills are ridiculous, but that's life. I'm at least going to be seeing Bishop Briggs in May.

My LJ is entirely devoted to journaling and the occasional photo entry, though I do book related posts as well sometimes. I don't think similar tastes have quite as much to do with e-friend compatibility as some people believe, but if you're interested: my musical tastes vary pretty widely, but if I could only take two bands' music with me to a desert island, I'd pick Queen and Nahko + Medicine for the People. I'd try to sneak Primus, Rush, and Shakey Graves with me, too, if I could get away with it. I can't condense my lit favorites in any truthful way, so... I tend to like things that are weird and literary regardless of format. My favorite book so far this year is The Poisonwood Bible, if that's helpful. I'm not great at watching things because my attention span apparently works in reverse of most people's, but some favorite movies would be Pulp Fiction, The Shining, Machete, Mad Max: Fury Road, and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. I am legitimately awful at keeping up with TV shows, so right now the only two I'm somewhat current on are Stranger Things and RWBY. Video game-wise, The Witcher 3 is my everything at the moment but I sometimes forget that Thedas isn't real.

Let me know in the comments if you're interested in the comments!

ETA: I realize this is a wall o' text. Consider it a teaser for how I structure my entries.
